About

George Morina

I’ve worked in the digital world for over 20 years, with experience well beyond websites. For small businesses I’ve become close to a one-stop shop: web, photos, video and their online presence. For more than five years I’ve also shared my photos and videos for free on Pexels, and I’m grateful to everyone who has found them useful.

Thank you

I started taking and sharing photos and videos more than five years ago. I’m thankful to Pexels for building a place that connects photographers with the real world, and with people all over the world.

My biggest thank you goes to all the media who have trusted my content enough to use it on their websites. That trust gave me the confidence to help small businesses and media, and I’m very grateful that I have been able, and still am able, to support the media and journalism.

A big thank you to all the Pexels Heroes, who have helped others with their work.

Thank you to Digital Boost for giving me the opportunity to work with them. Their feedback has helped me develop, so I can now help more than one business at a time.

Thank you to the Local Guides community, who have helped connect millions, even billions, of people with the places around them.

And thank you to Google for building systems that help society communicate with trust.

What people have done with the free work

Thank you to everyone who has viewed, downloaded and used the free work. This is what people have done with it on Pexels:

  • 2,310,276,104 views of my free photos and videos.
  • About 5.7 million views and 36,900 downloads in the last four weeks (22 September to 19 October).
  • 7 years sharing on Pexels, as Pexels counts it.

Where my photos have been used

Pexels lists these among the places my work has appeared: NDTV, Mint (livemint.com), Yahoo Finance, Capital (capital.fr), News18 Telugu, Bitcoin.com News, Yam News, IDN Times, EBC and LinkedIn. They’re listed as plain names, not as endorsements. See the articles we’ve linked.

A few of my own photos on Google Maps

Some of the photos I’ve taken myself and shared on Google Maps, so people can see places before they visit.

Work and experience

I’ve been a self-employed digital media consultant in London since 1995, helping individuals, local businesses, local authorities, and government and non-government organisations with digital media.

Since December 2020 I’ve also helped small businesses part-time through Digital Boost, a charity-owned platform that connects small businesses and charities with volunteer experts for free. As I put it on LinkedIn: “Happy to help anyone, in terms of Digital Media, Social Media and Branding!”

How I help small businesses

These are the areas I help with:

  • Websites and e-commerce: including e-commerce SEO.
  • Photography and video: including restaurant and food photography, and videography.
  • Branding: personal and corporate branding, and brand awareness.
  • Social media: social media and social media marketing.
  • Content: content strategy and content marketing.
  • PR and press releases: public relations and getting news out.
  • Digital advertising and PPC: online advertising and pay-per-click.
  • Email and lead generation: email marketing and finding new enquiries.
  • Digital strategy: putting the pieces together into a plan that fits.

Why it’s free

Everything I share on Pexels is under the Pexels licence, so anyone can download it and use it for free. You don’t need to ask me first, and you don’t need to credit me, although I’m always glad when people do.
